Byredo Hair Perfumes

Three classic Byredo fragrances - Bal d’Afrique, Blanche, and Gypsy Water - were recently distilled into aerosol hairspray cans that could fit in the palm of one’s hand, and so, the Byredo team contacted Au Courant on the topic of their hair perfumes and its minimalistic packaging.

With each canister boasting the fragrance maison's black-on-white identity, Byredo's hair perfumes are easily distinguishable from the plethora of similarly branded entities on the high-end scents market. In this case, a basic and discreetly marked tin can is easily elevated to something more precious, with the promise of a novel aromatic experience waiting inside its cylindrical walls.

The team mentions that its hair perfumes are perfect for, “caring and delicately scenting the hair in a beautifying motion," but at this point, Byredo could bottle air in its sleek packaging and even that would be received with open arms.

Goes to show how clean design and clear direction can redefine a simple idea.
