Au Courant Daily inside the NORR11 London Showroom

For the past few months, I've been working on Au Courant Vol. 03 here in London, developing imagery, working out forms, writing, researching, and the like.

In other words? I've hardly left my desk, what with the crap weather and all.

So when the grey skies finally parted with a genuine burst of sun and warmth, I decided it was time to stretch my legs en route to the NORR 11 Showroom in Mayfair; I'm partnering with the Copenhagen furniture and lighting design studio for an original editorial series within Vol. 03, and wanted to get a closer look at their EU-made pieces, particularly their modernist, iconic lounge chairs, the Mammoth and the Elephant.

For my purposes, I'll be working with a pared-down variation of the former, but it was nonetheless quite informative to observe how the line of the Mammoth creates an almost unbroken, cocoon-like shell around the body. Also, I wanted to get a sense of its dimensions in relation to the typical London space, as the Mammoth looks quite sizable at a glance, but is actually a rather neat and slimline take on a lounge piece.

More on Au Courant Vol. 03 and this work with NORR11, soon. In the meantime, see more from their showroom, below.
