This is more a case of 'recommended watching' than reading, but I think it's worth mentioning, at any rate. If you weren't able to attend his most recent Parisian retrospective, I suggest you get yourself a copy of this tome from Assouline.
Artist/Photographer and all-round creative Jean Paul Goude's altered images are the stuff of dreams, and this hard-covered book does a fine job of offering a peek behind the curtain - think of it as an artist's scrapbook, if you will.
Some images feature the astounding feats captured by his lens, and others - like my favourite snapshot of Alaia and his gargantuan muse running towards each other, above - are so quirky that they are permanently seared into your mind.
If only to have as an artistic book-of-wonders, So Far So Goude is worth a spot on your coffee table...
